North Korea reacted to charges of WannaCry attacks

The authorities of the country said that there is no such person as Pak Chin Heck.

The government of North Korea denied the US accusations of organizing cyberattacks on the servers of the film company Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2017 and the campaign to spread the extortion software WannaCry in May 2017.

In turn, the country’s authorities accused the US of slander and said that there is no such person as Pak Chin Heck, whom the US government accuses of involvement in the aforementioned attacks.

“There is no such person as Pak Chin Heck, whom the US Justice Department accuses of involvement in a hacker attack on the American film company Sony Pictures Entertainment, does not exist.¬†Moreover, we have nothing to do with the cybercrime mentioned by the Ministry of Justice, “Yonhap quoted the representative of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.

Previously, the US authoritieschargedDPRK national Pak Chin Hek, who allegedly took part in the organization of attacks on Sony Pictures and the extortion campaign of WannaCry. According to the Ministry of Justice, the suspect is an employee of the North Korean Intelligence and a member of the cybercrime group Lazarus.
