The Military Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has acquired Chinese complexes for retrieving data from smartphones and computers. This is reported by the Russian Service of the BBC.
The Office purchased two suitcases with the iDC-8811 Forensic MagiCube complex worth a total of five million rubles. The device can detect and decode the history of messages in popular instant messengers, including Telegram, Viber and Skype, as well as extract data about the user from Facebook and Twitter.
The device of the Chinese company MagiCube is capable of hacking smartphones running operating systems iOS and Android, which allows hackers to access the email address and phone number of the owner. It is noted that the iPhone takes about nine minutes to crack.
“Previously, the Investigative Committee was guided by Israeli and American decisions, but the political situation has changed. We do not define the policy of the “large” Investigative Committee, but we work closely with the military-investigation department and focus on the equipment that is most protected from possible vulnerabilities and can be used for at least 10 years, “explained the choice of the agency Dmitry Suturchchenko, CEO of the company “Ester Solutions”, associated with suppliers of Chinese equipment “ExpertExpress.”
In March, it was reported that the regional offices of the FSB , the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs acquired the tools of the Israeli company Cellebrite for hacking any iPhone.
